Blue Labelle Glow Powder Cleanser

Blue Labelle is a British skincare brand that I frequently came across on social media and although it was well loved by customers and had great reviews I never quite got round to trying it out for some reason. So when the founder and creator, Pascale, was offering the opportunity to test out her new product before the official launch I jumped at the chance. I must admit that the word glow definitely attracted me initially because who doesn’t want more of that?

Pascale mainly develops organic oil blends, from her flagship store on the Isle of Wight,  therefore I was intrigued by the introduction of this new powder cleanser. The ingredients sounded great- Moroccan lava clay (also known as rhassoul, has exfoliating and soothing properties), coconut milk, pineapple enzyme, colloidal oatmeal, vit C and PHA (polyhydroxy acids are a milder relation to AHAs and suitable for sensitive skin). I love how customisable this product is depending on how much water you add to the powder, it can be used as a gentle cleansing wash or mixed to a thicker paste for an exfoliating mask. Plus it has a much longer shelf life since it’s a dry powder and there are no worries of it leaking if travelling.

So how did my skin get on with this product and what were the effects? To my surprise this worked incredibly well for me, I’m always wary of exfoliating products on my sensitive, redness prone skin but this caused no irritation whatsoever. I think this neatly treads the line between being gentle and still effective enough to see results which is hard to do. The first time I used this I only mixed a small amount, 1/2 tsp, as recommended with water and it wasn’t especially easy to use, however when I added a little more powder the second time around it became a deliciously creamy lather and worked so much better.

My preferred way to use this is as a mask, that’s when I’ve seen the biggest difference in the texture and look of my skin. After approximately five minutes it left my face ridiculously soft, I couldn’t stop stroking my cheek, and I looked radiant, fresh and glowing. My makeup glided on beauifully too as the skin is properly prepped and free from any flakey areas. This cleanser has a mild fruity scent, thanks to the coconut and pineapple, transporting you to a lush, tropical island which is necessary during these grey winter months. Needless to say this product is a total winner in my opinion, it’s effective, non-irritating and a joy to use. You receive a generous amount in the glass bottle for your money, 60g. I was not asked to write this review but I think more people should know about and benefit from this fruity beauty! My eagle eyes spotted on the website that this is the first product in the Blue Labelle Glow range so I’m excited to see what else Pascale has up her sleeve, all I know is it’ll be good.
